The Chicago Girl T-Shirt is THE Must-Have garment for women
to represent the city they love the most. The Chicago Girl is one of our
best-selling, longest-running tees, first appearing way back around December,
2003. The top of the shirt reads, "stylish * sophisticated * super-fun"
and the tag line reads, "never out of the loop" -- design features our stylized
version of the Chicago Skyline. This is an ideal shirt for Chicago women,
whether they're around town, or traveling anywhere around the world. It
also makes a perfect gift, say, for your daughter or sister or girlfriend or
niece, whether they're off to college or they've moved away. Once a
Chicago Girl, always a Chicago Girl, and even if she's a thousand miles from
State and Madison, at heart, she's never out of the loop.
According to Chris:
Obviously, I know a lot of Chicago Girls. I walk out
the door every morning, and there they are. What I like the most is, there
are so many Chicago women who feel equally comfortable screaming in the
bleachers at a Cubs or Sox game or pub crawling through Bucktown or Lincoln
Park, as they do dressing up fancy and going out to a great restaurant or
formal, or to the symphony or the opera -- starting to sound a little like a
match.com ad here -- but it's true. Chicago Girls seem to have it all, the
best of everything.
About this new, new Chicago Girl tee -- the team fretted and
sweated to come up with something really perfect here, because the shirt for the
Chicago Girl was near and dear to all of our hearts, and we wanted to come up
with some cool new twist. If this was several years ago, in my
"super-wordy" phase, we might have said something like, "El-Riding,
Hot-Dog-with-a-lot-of-stuff-on-it-eating, street-festival-going,
parking-ticket-getting, da-bears-loving, lakeshore-drive-rollerblading,
dan-ryan-and-kennedy-construction-hating, marshall-fields-shopping (oops,
scratch that), sears-tower-climbing (um, scratch that too), CHICAGO GIRL!"
But now, we try to get to the point. The gang said, "Chris, here's the new
web site... write all you want... but let's trim down the words that actually
appear on the SHIRTS, ok? Most women don't want people reading their chest
for 20 minutes." Noted.
